Georg Meyer (politician, 1872)

Georg Meyer (born December 18, 1872 in Nördlingen ; died March 1, 1950 in Bayreuth ) was a German politician and a member of the Bavarian state parliament from 1919 to 1920 .

In the election to the Bavarian state parliament in early 1919, proportional representation and women's suffrage were used for the first time . Meyer moved in for the SPD , which won 33% of the seats in this election, as a member of the state parliament, to which he was a member until 1920.

From 1927 to 1933 at the latest, Meyer, nicknamed “Factor”, was chairman of the supervisory board of the housing cooperative Bauverein in Bayreuth . Shortly before the DC circuit of the Building Association by the Nazis on May 23, 1933, he resigned from that post. After the Second World War , Meyer was Chairman of the Board of the Bauverein from 1945 to 1950 .
