Georg Nagler (legal scholar)

Georg Nagler (born March 4, 1959 in Amberg ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

Georg Nagler studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich as a scholarship holder of the Bavarian School of Talented Students after his Abitur (top of the year with a grade of 1.0 at the state Max-Reger-Gymnasium in Amberg) . He received his doctorate in 1989 with a thesis in the field of public law. jur. with Rupert Scholz .

After completing his studies, Nagler became a legal civil servant at the Amberg-Sulzbach district office . From 1990 he was a lecturer at the Bavarian Civil Service College and in 1992 he became professor for general law at the University of Applied Sciences Biberach , in 1993 its prorector. In 1994 he was appointed founding president of the Hof University of Applied Sciences . In 1999 he was re-elected for a second term. In 2001 he was awarded the Golden Ring of Honor by the City of Hof for his commitment to the city and university .

From 2001 to 2005 he was a member of the board of directors of AOK Bayern, responsible for personnel and organization, IT, real estate, auditing and data protection. In 2005 he established himself as a lawyer in Munich.

From November 1, 2006 to April 30, 2008, Nagler was the managing director of the Federal Guild Association for Orthopedic Technology and was responsible for around 1,600 companies with more than 35,000 employees and a standard turnover with statutory health insurance of more than € 3 billion.

In 2008 he became the managing director of a corporate holding company and continued to teach at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich . In 2012, Nagler was elected rector of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Mannheim .

Nagler has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Trifels Munich since 1978.
