Georg Rudolph Marshal
Georg Rudolph Marschall (* around 1535, † around 1602) was Hereditary Marshal of the Landgraviate of Thuringia , imperial war council and colonel over a German regiment on horseback, electoral Saxon captain of the under-cured offices of Weida , Arnshaugk and Ziegenrück .
Life
He was the son of the Saxon court official Wolf Marschall zu Gosserstedt . As a member of the Thuringian noble family of the Marschalle , he was the owner of the manors Gutsmannshausen , Herrengosserstedt and Knau . Participation in the conquest of the Raab fortress in Hungary in 1598 during the Turkish wars on the side of Emperor Rudolph II. After his death, the Emperor wrote from Prague that he felt sorry for such a departure because he recognized the colonel as an experienced, brave and faithful man . He was married to Sabina von Troph. Their son was the supervisor of the county of Henneberg , Ludwig Ernst Marschall .
