Georg Stiebler

Georg Wolfgang Stiebler (born April 20, 1950 , † September 17, 1997 in Bosnia-Herzegovina ) was a German police officer and pioneer for the martial arts Kobudō and Jiu Jitsu in Germany.

Life

Stiebler received his doctorate in 1980 from the Ruhr University Bochum on international police cooperation as a Dr. jur. Most recently, he was Chief Criminal Director at the State Criminal Police Office in North Rhine-Westphalia . He became known through his work as a martial artist .

He was a member and from 1979 to 1983 regional chairman of the German Karate Union NRW. He was also a founding member and president of the German Jiu-Jitsu Union in 1982 . Furthermore, in 1983 he initiated the establishment of Kobudo Kwai Deutschland e. V. and was also its founding president.

In addition, Stiebler was instrumental in founding and growing the combat sports club Bojutsu e. V. in Bochum, where he also trained himself. From the foundation of the association in 1976 until 1980 he held the position of first chairman, between 1980 and 1983 he was second chairman alongside Klaus Neuhaus-Wever. In addition, he held the position of head coach. His main sporting involvement in the club was initially Shaolin Kempo and Jiu Jitsu, later Kukishin-Ryu was added. In 1983 the members of the association awarded him honorary membership and honorary chairmanship for his extraordinary services to the association.

Georg Stiebler was killed in a helicopter crash in 1997 in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
