Georg Traeg (born April 6, 1899 in Oettingen in Bavaria ; † July 30, 1978 there ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

After attending elementary school and the Progymnasium, Georg Traeg took part in the First World War from June 1917 to November 1918 with the 2nd Battalion of the 4th Bavarian Field Artillery Regiment and the 1st Bavarian Foot Artillery Regiment . In May 1919 he joined the volunteer battalion of the Bavarian Reserve Artillery Regiment No. 1. From 1922 to 1923 he belonged to the Bund Oberland . Also in 1919 he received a position in the upper middle financial service at the Oettingen tax office. In 1929 he moved to the Nördlingen tax office - since 1923 in the rank of senior tax secretary . In 1930 he was transferred to the Augsburg District Office. In 1934 he was promoted to senior tax inspector there.

In March 1923, Traeg first joined the NSDAP, which he rejoined on April 1, 1925. In the same year he joined the SA . In the first few years of his party membership, he devoted himself to founding and leading the NSDAP local group in Nördlingen. In 1932 he took over the Gau department of the office for civil servants and in 1933 the propaganda management in Gau Schwaben . On December 15, 1937, Traeg was appointed deputy Gauleiter of the Schwaben Gau and held this position until September 1942. From March 1943, he took part in the Second World War as a war volunteer with a heavy artillery replacement department .

From April 1938 until the end of the Nazi regime, Traeg was a member of the National Socialist Reichstag for constituency 24 (Upper Bavaria-Swabia) .
