George V of Angelach-Angelach

Georg V von Angelach-Angelach († 1625 ) was from the family of the Lords of Angelach . He became Vogt in the Prättigau .

Georg V was the son of Bernhard IV von Angelach-Angelach . As a knight of the Order of St. John , the father should have observed celibacy . Georg came from a illegitimate relationship, as did his sister Maria, who married the land clerk Nikolaus Muchheim zu Uri . Georg V was married for the second time to Margarita Tamman, who came from a family of the Lucerne patriciate . From this marriage there were six sons, of whom we know the following: Hans XI. Bernhard (* 1587; † 1646), later auxiliary bishop in Basel , Hans XII. Balthasar (* around 1588), Georg VI. († 1647), later canon in Beromünster and Hans XIV. Ludwig (* 1600; † 1646).

Life

George V was accepted as a citizen in Baden in Aargau in 1574 . Georg and two of his sons were also granted citizenship of Lucerne in 1589. In 1597 he bought the Böttstein estate and became a judge and ensign in the county of Baden . In 1620 he became Vogt in the Prättigau .
