Georg Wolfram

Georg Karl Wolfram (born December 3, 1858 in Allstedt , † March 14, 1940 in Jena ) was a German archivist , librarian and historian .

Wolfram became director of the Metz city ​​archives in 1888 . From 1909 to 1918 he headed the university and state library in Strasbourg and after the end of the First World War he moved to Frankfurt am Main , where he founded the “Scientific Institute of the Alsace-Lorraine in the Reich”. From 1922 to 1933 he headed the entire association of German history and antiquity associations . He founded the Society for Lorraine History and Antiquity. Politically, he had a German national stance.
