Georg von der Lippe

Georg Friedrich Hugo Louis von der Lippe (born January 17, 1866 in Oldenburg , † July 7, 1933 in Berlin ) was a German officer, most recently in the rank of lieutenant general .

His parents were Bernhard Elimar August Georg Friedrich Wilhelm von der Lippe (born September 14, 1826; † November 23, 1886) and his wife Ida Emilie Juliane Martens (born March 31, 1833; † October 10, 1881). His brother Friedrich Wilhelm Elimar (1854-1935) was also lieutenant general.

Live and act

As a flag junior he began his military career in 1883 in the field artillery regiment 26, in which he was deployed as captain and battery chief from 1898. In 1908 he took over as Major and Commander of the II. Department of the 63rd Field Artillery Regiment. In 1914 he was Commander of the 37th Field Artillery Regiment as Lieutenant Colonel, in 1915 he was Commander of the 73rd Field Artillery Regiment as Colonel and in 1916 Commander of the 31st Field Artillery Brigade . At the end of the First World War (October 18, 1918) he was appointed major general. He was taken over into the Reichswehr in 1919 as commander of Reichswehr Brigade 25, then as artillery leader of Reichswehr Brigade 15 and finally in 1920 as artillery leader III in Berlin. After he had received the character of Lieutenant General on September 29, 1921 , he was retired from military service on January 31, 1922.

He was also an honorary knight of the Order of St. John .

family

With his brothers Rudolf, Walter and Wilhelm von der Lippe, he was accepted into the Prussian hereditary nobility on November 10, 1887. Since 1893 he was married to Marie Helene Luise at the end (born September 15, 1870), a daughter of the commandant of Berlin Major General Ludwig at the end (1833-1911). The couple had a daughter: Edith (born December 5, 1896).

His grave is in the south-west cemetery Stahnsdorf .
