George Ashley Campbell

George Ashley Campbell (born November 27, 1870 in Hastings , Minnesota , † November 10, 1954 ) was an American communications engineer and co-founder of the theory of electrical filters alongside Karl Willy Wagner .

He graduated from MIT in 1891 and received his Masters from Harvard University in 1893 . He then spent three years doing study projects in Göttingen, Vienna and Paris. In 1897 he went to American Telephone & Telegraph. In 1901 he obtained his doctorate .

In 1903 Campbell was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences . In 1940 he received the AIEE Edison Medal .
