George Clinton Pelham

Sir George Clinton Pelham KCMG , KBE (* 1898 ; † 1984 ) was a British diplomat .

Pelham joined the foreign service in 1920 and was employed in the consular service in China from 1923 . From October 1933 to August 1942 he worked at the embassy in China. In 1943 he was the managing consul general in Madagascar , in 1945 he was first class counselor in the trade department in Baghdad . In 1948 he was employed at the embassy in Madrid . From 1951 to 1955 he was ambassador to Riyadh , Saudi Arabia . From 1955 to 1957 he was ambassador to Prague .
