George Fox Wilson

George Fox Wilson (born January 26, 1896 , † January 9, 1951 in Weybridge , Surrey ) was an English entomologist and phytosanitary expert. In 1915 he joined the 1st City of London Sanitary Company . From 1919, after a three-year stationing in Egypt and Syria, during which he dealt among other things with measures against malaria , until his death he was an entomologist for the Royal Horticultural Society .

Wilson played a leading role in the spread of parasites of the plant pest whitefly, and is mentioned, among other things, in the discovery of a colony of lilies in Surrey, England in 1940 and his studies of this plant pest.
