George Pólya Prize
George Pólya Prize ( English George Pólya Prize ), named after George Pólya , is the name of a group of awards given by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).
history
The George Pólya Prize was founded in 1969 as a prize for combinatorics and has been awarded every four years since 1971.
Since an endowment by Stella V. Pólya the price was every two years from 1992, alternately in combinatorics (combinatorial theory) and mathematics (mathematics) awarded.
In 2013, on the occasion of the establishment of the George Pólya Prize for Mathematical Exposition (such as the "George Pólya Prize for Teaching Mathematics", first award in 2015), it was decided to convert the George Pólya Prize into a George Pólya Prize in Combinatorics (first award in 2016) and a George Pólya Prize in Mathematics (first to be awarded in 2018) every four years.
