George Widener

This article describes the American artist George Widener, for his cousin of the same name see George Dunton Widener (1861–1912).

George Widener (born February 8, 1962 in Kentucky ) is an American brut artist .

Even as a child, he was considered to have behavioral problems. In the early 1980s he worked for the United States Air Force in Germany, where he evaluated espionage material. He broke off his engineering studies in Texas and temporarily lived in the Amsterdam squatter scene. He later became homeless but went to libraries during the day to read and study. In 2000 he was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome with an island talent for numbers and data. Today Georg Widener is a sought-after artist who translates his talent for handling data and numbers into extraordinary drawings.
