George dos Santos Paladini , often just George , (born March 13, 1978 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian football player .

Career

George played for América FC in Natal in 1999 before moving to the Portuguese first division CD Santa Clara . In its first season in Portugal, the club was relegated to the Liga de Honra , but managed to get promoted again the following season. Santa Clara held two more seasons in the SuperLiga , after relegation to the first division in 2003, they also played in the second division against relegation. At the end of 2005 George returned to Brazil and played for Sport Recife for the next few months before moving to the Venezuelan first division club Carabobo FC in the summer of 2006 .

In June 2007 the offensive player was one of four Brazilians to be signed by the newly formed New Zealand A-League team Wellington Phoenix and made four league appearances in the early stages of the season. At the beginning of November 2007 he was released from his contract together with his compatriot Cleberson because he no longer played a role in Phoenix's further planning. George then played again for Carabobo, in 2010 he joined the Argentine club Deportivo Armenio for a season .
