Georges Auclair (born May 27, 1920 - April 4, 2004 in Paris ) was a French journalist and writer .
Live and act
Auclair studied philosophy, among other things, and then went to Paris. Shortly before the liberation of Paris , he began working as a journalist there. During this time he also joined the Resistance and fought against the Germans in Paris and the surrounding area.
On January 9, 1949, Auclair founded the Cercle celtique - Bro Gwenrann, which is still active today, together with Pierre Loquet and J. Le Bihen .
As soon as the Second World War was over, Auclair traveled several times to Germany - including the French occupation zone - and reported from there. These trips then led to his much-noticed and discussed novel Un amour allemand .
Auclair was later appointed to work at the Center national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS); as such he was also in Washington, DC for some time . In the USA he also worked as a lecturer in French literature. On September 6, 1960, Auclair was one of the signatories of the 121st Manifesto .
Georges Auclair died on April 4, 2004 in Paris and was buried in the Père Lachaise cemetery (Division 42).
