Georges Berr (born July 30, 1867 in Paris , † July 25, 1942 in Paris) was a French actor, writer and director.

life and work

Georges Berr was the uncle of the French actor Jean-Pierre Aumont and his brother, the French director and screenwriter François Villiers .

As an actor, he was a member and Sociétaire of the Comédie-Française from 1886 to 1923 . He was on stage in 1902 in the operetta Princesse Bébé by Louis Varney .

Georges Berr was also known under the pseudonyms Colias and Heinrich Bott , under which he created several dramas - also in collaboration with Louis Verneuil - such as L'Amant de Madame Vidal , La Pomme , L'École des contribuables or Guignol, un cambrioleur and comedies like my sister and me .

For René Clair's early masterpiece The Million from 1931, he and Marcel Guillemaud provided the literary source and wrote the dialogues for films such as La Porteuse de pain (1934) and Ferdinand le Noceur (1935).

Georges Berr died in Paris in 1942 at the age of almost 75.
