Georges Auguste Hellebuyck senior (born August 21, 1890 in Antwerp , † February 20, 1975 ) was a Belgian sailor .
successes
Georges Hellebuyck won the bronze medal at the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp in the 8-meter class according to the International Rule of 1919. In three races with the Antwerpia V , he always crossed the finish line in third and last place, behind the two Norwegian boats Sildra and Lyn . The skipper of the Antwerpia V was Albert Grisar , the crew also included Hellebuyck, Henri Weewauters , Willy de l'Arbre and Léopold Standaert .
His son Georges Hellebuyck junior took part in the 1948 Olympic sailing regatta .
