Georgi Stankow , Bulgarian; Georgi Stankov , Cyrillic; Георги Станков (born August 10, 1943 ) is a former Bulgarian amateur light heavyweight boxer.
Career
The 1.86 m tall multiple Bulgarian champion won the police championships in Germany in 1959 and the Balkan championships in Turkey in 1967. In 1968 he took part in the Summer Olympic Games in Mexico and won a bronze medal after only being eliminated in the semifinals against Danas Pozniakas .
In 1969 he made 5th place at the European Championships in Bucharest and started in 1972 at the Summer Olympics in Munich , but lost there in the first fight against Nikolai Anfimow .
