Georgios Derpapas

Georgios Derpapas ( Greek Γιώργος Δέρπαπας ; born November 11, 1937 in Katerini ; † September 24, 2014 in Mykonos ) was a Greek painter and graphic artist. He is considered a representative of Greek surrealism.

Life

Derpapas grew up in Thessaloniki, at the age of 19 he moved to Hamburg where he studied business administration, in 1960 he turned exclusively to painting. He had his first solo exhibition in the Hamburg artist club “die insel”, and in 1967 he moved back to Greece.
