The three police departments of Saxony-Anhalt.

The Police Department of Saxony-Anhalt North was one of the three police departments of the Saxony-Anhalt Police until December 31, 2018 . Its seat was at Sternstrasse 12 in Magdeburg . After Andreas Schomaker moved to the Ministry of the Interior of Saxony-Anhalt in July 2018, Chief Police Director Tom-Oliver Langhans was temporarily appointed Police President of the Saxony-Anhalt North Police Department.

The other two police departments in the state were the Saxony-Anhalt East Police Department in Dessau-Roßlau and the Saxony-Anhalt South Police Department in Halle (Saale) .

The tasks of the Police Department Saxony-Anhalt North have been taken over by various police inspections since January 1, 2019. The water police is part of the Police Inspection Central Services Saxony-Anhalt . The police stations in the district of Stendal , Altmarkkreis Salzwedel and the district of Jerichower Land as well as the Central Criminal Police Service in Stendal are part of the Stendal police station . The police station in the district of Börde , district of Harz , Salzlandkreis and Magdeburg belong to the Magdeburg police station .
