The police department of Saxony-Anhalt East was one of the police departments of the Saxony-Anhalt police until December 31, 2018 . The service dog handler school has been part of the Police Inspection Central Services Saxony-Anhalt since January 1, 2019 . The police stations in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld , Dessau-Roßlau and the district of Wittenberg belong to the Dessau-Roßlau police station .

The other police departments in the state were the Saxony-Anhalt North Police Department in Magdeburg and the Saxony-Anhalt South Police Department in Halle (Saale) .
