Georgios Diamantakos (Greek spelling: Γιώργος Διαμαντάκος; born January 14, 1995 in Sparta ) is a professional Greek basketball player . It is a 216 cm center .

Career

Diamantakos started his career at Spartiakos, an amateur club from Sparta. After the Greek record champions Panathinaikos Athens noticed him, he moved to Athens at the beginning of the 2012/2013 season . In addition to the Basket League , he also made his debut in the ULEB Euroleague , Europe's top division. With Panathinaikos Diamantakos could not only win two championships but also three times in a row the Greek Cup for club teams. After Panathinaikos had signed the Serbs Miroslav Raduljica and Ognjen Kuzmić in the summer of 2015 and also had the young talent Georgios Papagiannis , who had been playing for Athens since 2014, in the squad, Diamantakos was the fourth center to see his future season as limited. As a result, he dissolved the current contract with Panathinaikos by mutual agreement and moved to the Greek first division club Kifissia.

For the 2016/17 season he had signed a two-year contract with Apollon Patras . However, after he was unable to keep the class, Diamantakos switched to GLS Faros in the summer of 2017 .

National team

Diamantakos played for the Greek junior basketball teams. With the U16 team he played in 2011 at the U16 European Championship; with the U18 in 2013 at the U18 European Championship.
