Gerald Heere (born April 18, 1979 in Siegburg ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) from Braunschweig. From 2013 to 2017 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . Since 2019 he has been head of the Senator's Office at the Bremen Senator for Finance Dietmar Strehl .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1998 at the Lichtenberg-Gymnasium Cuxhaven and completing military service, he began studying for a master's degree at the Technical University of Braunschweig with a major in political science and minor subjects in modern history and computer science, which he completed in 2005. He then became a research assistant in the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group in the Lower Saxony state parliament on the work of the study commission “Demographic Change” . From 2006 he worked as a research assistant and freelance lecturer at the Institute for Social Sciences at the Technical University of Braunschweig.

Gerald Heere has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 2005, he chaired the Braunschweig district association for over five years and was a member of the Braunschweig City Council from 2011 to 2016 . In the state elections in 2013 , he was elected to the state parliament on rank 16 on the state list. In the Green parliamentary group, he was the spokesman for budget and finance as well as for media policy. He has been a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee since 2015. Gerald Heere sat on the budget and finance committee and was a deputy member of the federal and European affairs committee and the media. In the state parliament he represented his constituency of Braunschweig and also looked after the districts of Peine and Helmstedt and the city of Wolfsburg . In the state elections in 2017 , Heere missed re-entry into the state parliament with list position 18, as the Greens parliamentary group shrank from 20 seats to just 12 seats due to the poorer election result.

Gerald Heere is deputy chairman of the assembly of the Lower Saxony State Media Authority (NLM) and a member of the administrative board of the Braunschweigische Landessparkasse (BLSK).
