Gerald Säumel (born January 10, 1986 ) is a former Austrian football player .
Career
society
He played for his hometown club TSV Neumarkt until 2000 . After playing through all of the youth teams at Sturm Graz , he joined the combat team via the amateur team . The defensive midfielder made 35 appearances in the Bundesliga with his club . For the 2007/08 season Gerald Säumel was awarded to the second division club DSV Leoben , in 2008/09 he left SK Sturm for good and signed a one-year contract in Leoben. With Leoben he was relegated from the second division in 2009 .
For the 2010/11 season Säumel moved to the second division club FC Gratkorn . With Gratkorn he was relegated to the Middle Regional League at the end of the season .
From July 2012 he was under contract with the GAK. After its bankruptcy, he had to leave the club in October 2012. Then switched to SC Kalsdorf in January 2013 .
After the re-establishment, he returned to the eight-class Grazer AK in January 2014. With the GAK he reached the march from the eighth highest division, the 1st class, to the 2nd division by 2019. After promotion to the second division, he ended his career after the 2018/19 season.
National team
Säumel completed international matches for the Austrian youth national teams and was on call for Austria's U-21 team.
Personal
His brother Jürgen (* 1984) was also a soccer player.
