Gerd-Eckhardt Schuster

Gerd-Eckhardt Schuster (born October 18, 1937 in Stettin , † February 10, 2013 in Magdeburg ) was a German politician ( SED , PDS , DIE LINKE ), poet and writer . From 1990 to 1998 he was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament .

Education and life

Gerd-Eckhardt Schuster passed his Abitur in Pasewalk in 1955 and studied at the Erfurt Pedagogical Institute from 1957 to 1960. He completed his studies as a certified teacher for German and art education and worked as a teacher in Grebbin / Meckl. From 1969 to 1980 he was an employee of the Schwerin district management of the SED, and from 1972 to 1976 he was an aspirant (cultural studies) and doctorate. phil. in Berlin. From 1980 to 1986 he was a technical college lecturer in Schwerin and Halberstadt and then home manager in Schlanstedt . In 2005 he made his debut with love poems in the cellar vault of the Halberstadt City Library. He has three sons and two daughters.

Gerd-Eckhardt Schuster was a member of the SED since 1962 and of the PDS since 1990 (from 2005: Die Linke). For his party he was mayor of Schlanstedt since October 1989 (until 1990 and from 1994 to 2002) and a member of the Halberstadt district executive (until 2007). He was elected to the state parliament in the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990 and in the second in 1994 via the state list. He was deputy chairman of the PDS faction.
