Gerd Bollermann (born April 10, 1949 in Helmeringhausen , today Olsberg in the Sauerland ) is a German educator , was head of the Dortmund department of the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia and a member of the SPD in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was on 18 August 2010 to 31 August 2015 President of the Government of the governmental district Arnsberg .

Gerd Bollermann was born on April 10, 1949 in Helmeringhausen in the Sauerland, today a district of Olsberg; is married and has a son and a daughter. He was the first district president of Arnsberg, who - born in the Sauerland and later living in Dortmund - is rooted in two areas of the administrative district.

After his apprenticeship at the official administration in Bigge and as an administrative clerk at the city of Attendorn, he worked as a consultant in the scientific secretariat at the Minister for Science and Research of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and head of planning and development at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration North Rhine-Westphalia in Gelsenkirchen. In 1991 he became professor there for the fields of psychology, behavioral training and administrative management. From 1998 to 2000 he headed the Dortmund department of the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia. From 1963 to 1969 Gerd Bollermann worked initially as a trainee and then as an administrative clerk in local government in the Sauerland. After obtaining the technical college entrance qualification in 1969, Gerd Bollermann took up a second course of study in social work, educational sciences and psychology. In 1972 he became a qualified social worker and in 1976 a qualified pedagogue. In 1987 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. Political activities

Gerd Bollermann has been a member of the SPD since 1972. In 2000, he became a member of the board of the SPD local association in Dortmund-Eichlinghofen. From 1984 to 1999 he was a member of the council of the city of Dortmund, from 1991 to 1994 deputy chairman of the SPD council group and from 1991 to 1999 a member of the council of elders . Gerd Bollermann was treasurer of the SPD sub-district of Dortmund until 2010.

He was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament since June 2, 2000 for constituency 134 (Dortmund Hombruch and Lütgendortmund) and then since 2005 for constituency Dortmund IV (Hörde, Hombruch and Lütgendortmund).

In the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia he was active in the following committees in the 14th electoral term. Committee for Economy, SMEs and Energy, in the Budget and Finance Committee, in the “Personnel” subcommittee in the Budget and Finance Committee, in the “State Enterprises and Special Assets” subcommittee in the Budget and Finance Committee and in the Committee for Local Policy and Administrative Structural Reform as a deputy member.

When he took office as district president in 2010, he resigned from his state parliament mandate.

Due to the reaching of retirement age, Bollermann announced at the beginning of 2015 that he wanted to retire as district president. During his vacation in June 2015, the Ministry of the Interior and Municipalities of North Rhine-Westphalia temporarily appointed the deputy head of the North Rhine-Westphalia constitutional protection department Burkhard Schnieder to head the regional council. The Ministry of the Interior justified this decision with the "tense housing situation of the refugees". Bollermann criticized the interior ministry's measure.

As announced, he retired on August 31, 2015 and was replaced by Diana Ewert .

Gerd Bollermann is a member of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO) and the Police Union (GdP).
