Gerd Ernst Mäuser (born March 16, 1958 in Berlin ) is a German manager and was President of VfB Stuttgart from 2011 to June 3, 2013 . Between 2002 and 2011 he was a member of the supervisory board of VfB Stuttgart.

Managerial career

Mäuser closed at Mercedes-Benz training as a car mechanic , and then study in business administration as a business graduate . After graduating, Mäuser worked in various management positions at BMW . He then became Head of Marketing at Porsche . On September 2, 2010, Mäuser left Porsche by mutual agreement.

Football official

In 2002 Mäus became a member of the supervisory board of VfB Stuttgart . On May 20, 2011, the VfB supervisory board, together with its chairman Dieter Hundt , decided to propose Gerd E. Mäuser as the only candidate for the office of club president to the VfB members at the general meeting. Without a change in the statutes, the proposal of an opposing candidate was not possible; an opposition group around Helmut Roleder failed to achieve the 75 percent required for this. After the rejection of the amendments to the statutes at the general meeting on July 17, 2011, Mäuser was elected the new President of VfB Stuttgart with a majority of 58.7 percent, replacing Erwin Staudt , who had previously held the office for eight years.

resignation

On April 10, 2013, after ongoing fan protests, Mäuser announced his resignation as VfB President on June 3, 2013.
