Gerd Fink

Gerd Fink (born December 8, 1955 ) is a former German soccer player . From 1975 to 1983, the defender played a total of 263 league games in the 2nd Bundesliga for the clubs SpVgg Bayreuth , Eintracht Trier and SpVgg Fürth and scored 15 goals.

career

The former 1.84 m tall defender went through the youth department of Blau-Weiß Köln before he joined the amateur team of 1. FC Köln for two years from 1973 . After two years of competitive practice in the 1st Amateur League Middle Rhine , he received an offer from the professional sector and moved to the 1975/76 round in southern Germany for SpVgg Bayreuth in the 2nd Bundesliga South. With the black and yellow from Upper Franconia, the Cologne-based player immediately became a regular player in the second year of the new 2nd Bundesliga. He completed 34 games (2 goals) under coach Gerhard Happ at the side of the two top performers Wolfgang Breuer and Manfred Großesler and the game association came in fifth.

After two laps in Bayreuth, he moved to Trier in 1977 in the old Moselle and Roman town. In the team from the Moselle Stadium , he saw the coaches Hans-Dieter Roos , Lothar Kleim and Werner Kern . In his four rounds with the blue-black-whites of Eintracht Trier, the reliable and strong duel Fink was always one of the core players. The best placement was achieved in the 1980/81 season with reaching eighth place alongside teammates Harald Aumeier and Alfred Wahlen . Since the single-track 2nd Bundesliga was introduced for the 1981/82 round, Eintracht Trier did not have sufficient qualification points and therefore had to return to the amateur camp, Fink signed a new contract for the debut round of the single-track 2nd Bundesliga, 1981/82, with SpVgg Fürth .

In the first year, the team of the old master around the top performers Bernhard Bergmann , Hans-Dieter Seelmann , Wolfgang Metzler , Franz Weber and Fred Schaub under the coaches Roos and Kleim reached the saving 14th place - Fink completed 33 league games with three goals - but In 1982/83 Fink (37-1) descended under trainer Franz Brungs with Fürth in the Bavarian amateur camp. He also played the round in 1983/84 with the "Kleeblatt" -Elf before he ran for three rounds in 1984/85 in the Landesliga Mitte at FSV Bad Windsheim. At BSC Saas Bayreuth he ended his career in 1987/88 in the Landesliga Nord as a player-coach.
