Gerd Haeffner
Gerd Haeffner SJ (born July 6, 1941 in Nuremberg ; † October 12, 2016 in Munich ) was a German philosopher .
Life
In 1961 Haeffner entered the Jesuit order after graduating from high school . From 1963 to 1966 he studied philosophy at the papal faculty " Berchmanskolleg " in Pullach and Munich . He completed his theological studies from 1970 to 1973 at the Pontifical Faculty in Lyon-Fourvière and in 1974 at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen .
In 1971 he received his doctorate from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with a thesis on Heidegger's concept of metaphysics , supervised by Max Müller . In 1973 he was ordained a priest .
From 1974 Gerd Haeffner worked at the Munich University of Philosophy . In 1978 he became associate professor there and in 1981 full professor of philosophical anthropology , the philosophy of history and the history of philosophy . In addition, he dealt intensively in his thinking with the phenomenon of the present as well as German and French phenomenology .
From 1982 to 1988 Gerd Haeffner was rector of the university. In addition, he received visiting professorships on four continents: at the Université Laval in Québec, Canada (1976), at the Institut Supérieur de Philosophy “Pierre Canisius” in Kimwenza-Kinshasa, Zaïre (1978 and 1979), at the Philosophical-Theological College Sankt Georgen in Frankfurt a. M. (1980 and 1982), at the Institut Supérieur de Philosophie et de Théologie “Center Sèvres” in Paris (1985, 1990 and 1995), at the Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan (1989) and at the University of Innsbruck (1993/94 ). He was a member of the Görres Society .
In July 2009 he was at the School of Philosophy Emeritus , but remained until 2014 continue for the university operates.
