Gerd Kadzik

Gerd Kadzik (* 1929 in Mannheim ) is a German painter who preferred portraits, cityscapes, landscapes, flowers and still lifes . He works in different techniques: oil painting , watercolor , woodcut and drawing. His painting style ranges from representational to abstract.

Kadzik has lived and worked in Affinghausen (Lower Saxony) since 1970 and has presented his works in numerous exhibitions.

In 2009, Kadzik received the Diepholz District Culture Prize for his life's work.

Life

After attending school in Schwedt / Oder , Kadzik completed an apprenticeship as a graphic designer in Berlin. He then gained professional experience at the Badischer Verlag in the editorial offices of the Illustrierte Woche and Die Welt am Saturday in Düsseldorf. He then worked as a draftsman for the Ufa advertising film and at the Fischerkoesen Bonn film studio. From 1960 to 1970 he lived and worked in Bad Godesberg, from 1962 as a freelance painter and graphic artist. Kadzik has lived and worked in Affinghausen since 1970. Study trips have taken him to the USA and large parts of Europe.
