Gerd Kaminski

Gerd Kaminski (born December 14, 1942 in Vienna ) is an Austrian legal scholar and China expert .

Life

Kaminski studied law and the Chinese language at the University of Vienna . Since 1971 he has headed the Austro-Chinese Society. Since his habilitation in 1978, he has headed the Boltzmann Institute for China and Southeast Asian Studies in Vienna. In addition, he held several visiting professorships, including a. at the State University of New York at Buffalo and Peking University . He is also an advisor to the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on issues relating to China . One of his main areas of research is the Chinese conception of international law. He has traveled to Asia over 70 times and has written more than 35 relevant books.
