history
In a register of the tithe of the monastery of Hersfeld ( Hersfeld tithe list ) created between 881 and 899, Sotterhausen is mentioned for the first time in a document as Suderhusa in Friesenfeld, which is subject to a tenancy obligation .
From January 1, 1962 to March 31, 1990 Sotterhausen belonged to the municipality of Beyernaumburg .
On January 1, 2010, the previously independent municipality of Sotterhausen was incorporated into the city of Allstedt together with the municipalities of Beyernaumburg , Emseloh , Holdenstedt , Katharinenrieth , Liedersdorf , Mittelhausen , Niederröblingen (Helme) , Nienstedt , Pölsfeld and Wolferstedt .
