The village is located on the river Rohne and south of the federal highway 38 in an arable area east of the city of Allstedt.

In a resulting 881 to 899 directory of the tenth day of the monastery Hersfeld ( Hersfeld tithe directory ) Einsdorf is a tenth-requiring location Einesdorpf in Fries field first mentioned. The place changed hands many times:
- 1369–1496 noble lordship of Querfurt
- 1496–1575 part of the Allstedt office , owner a. a. Counts of Mansfeld , Counts of Stolberg
