Beyernaumburg is located in the Rohnetal in the southeastern Harz foreland around 7 km east of Sangerhausen and is a district of the town of Allstedt in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz , Saxony-Anhalt , Germany. The Westerbach, which flows south, rises in the village.

history

In a register of the tithe of the Hersfeld monastery , which was created between 881 and 899, Beyernaumburg is mentioned for the first time in a document as Niunburc and the associated Niuuenburg castle in Friesenfeld . The villages Grabesdorf and Lobesdorf , which no longer exist today, are also mentioned in the same directory . Beyernaumburg came in 1130 through a gift from Emperor Heinrich V to Count Wichmann von Gleuß-Seeburg , who came from Bavaria , which later led to the current place name.

From the medieval castle is still visible a 30 m high tower of the bailey. The castle was rebuilt in the 19th century.

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent municipality of Beyernaumburg was incorporated into the city of Allstedt together with the municipalities of Emseloh , Holdenstedt , Katharinenrieth , Liedersdorf , Mittelhausen , Niederröblingen (Helme) , Nienstedt , Pölsfeld , Sotterhausen and Wolferstedt .
