Gerd Rainer Weber (* 1966 in Neunkirchen / Saar ) is a German local politician ( SPD ). From 2014 to April 2017 he was state chairman of the Saarland Pirate Party .

Life

After finishing primary school in Furpach, Gerd Rainer Weber attended grammar school on the Krebsberg in Neunkirchen (Saar). After graduating from high school in 1985, he did his basic military service and then studied at Saarland University until 1992 . He joined the Pirate Party in October 2011 as a founding member of the Neunkirchen district association and was its chairman until April 2017. For the Pirate Party he sat in the Neunkirchen district council and served as an alderman in the Neunkirchen district .

After Jasmin Freilang resigned from the state chairmanship, he was elected as the new state chairman and thus prevailed against the previous deputy Jörg Arweiler. In the state elections in Saarland in 2017 , he ran as the top candidate of the Saarland Pirate Party. However, his party failed to enter the Saarland state parliament with 0.7 percent of all votes . He then resigned from all party offices and switched to the SPD in April 2017 , where he initially strengthened the Ottweiler branch. He retained his offices as a member of the Neunkirchen district council and district councilor for the Neunkirchen district.

Gerd Rainer Weber is married and lives in Ottweiler . Professionally, he works independently a. a. as a communication trainer .
