Gerd Weismann (born March 28, 1950 in Baden-Baden ) is a German cabaret artist , author , director , graphic artist , sculptor , photographer and painter .

Life

Gerd Weismann graduated from the Markgraf-Ludwig-Gymnasium in Baden-Baden in 1968. He studied mathematics in Freiburg and from 1972 to 1975 art at the University of Education under Erwin Wortelkamp, ​​Eberhard Bruegel, Peter Staechelin and Manfred Wild. Even during his student days he practiced cabaret on various occasions on stage, solo and in small groups. The name "Nestbeschmutzer" was born and was to accompany Weismann for years. Weismann worked as an electrician and wrote satirical texts in his spare time, which he performed. His radio plays were also broadcast on the radio.

The "nest dirtiers" became a constant, in 1988 together with Renate Kasprowitz and Sven Ehlert - The hobby becomes a profession for Weismann, the family lives in Großweier near Achern.

From 1990 to 2004 Weismann traveled and played in a duo with Frank Sauer as "Cabaret Nestbeschmutzer". They appeared on stages throughout the German-speaking area. They achieved successes such as the Kleinkunstpreis Baden-Württemberg 1994 or the Sankt Ingberter Pfanne 1999. In 2004 the two artists parted ways, Weismann performed solo. For his first program "My Body and Me - Two Crisis Areas in the Spotlight" he came third at the Paulaner Solo + 2004 and second at the "Melsung Cabaret Prize" in 2004. He writes many texts for colleagues and directs several programs for other cabarets ( including Leipzig Pfeffermühle, Potsdam cabaret "Obelisk", Jörg Kräuter, Yvonne Fendel, Wolf & Bleuel).

Since 2006 he has lived with his wife in Neuweier near Baden-Baden.

2010 was another turning point in Weismann's life. He ended his cabaret career and started working full-time as a visual artist. He paints, creates sculptures and takes photos, activities that he has pursued since his youth. In the same year he co-founded the artist group CUBUS Producer Gallery Baden-Baden eV to the Rolf Rohrbacher-Laskowski, Johanna Kempf, Gabriele Müller-Nagler, Michael Haisermann, Ernesto Eduard, Martin Wagner, Maike Günther, Peter Nowack, Eva Schniedertüns-Gornik, Peter Wendt, Valentin Bauer, Peter Diziol and Rudolf Engel count. Since 2011 he has had his own gallery in Achern, the "Galerie Gerd Weismann". He exhibited his works of art in 2010 at the Zeche Zollverein (Essen), at "ART-Innsbruck 2011" and at the "International ART-FAIR of Bolzano KunStart 12" in Italy.
