Gerda Hollunder (* 1940 in Beuthen , Upper Silesia) is a German journalist and former program director of Deutschlandradio Berlin .

Life

Gerda Hollunder graduated from high school in Marl . This was followed by an apprenticeship as a bookseller in Essen from 1960 to 1963 . From 1963 to 1969 Hollunder studied German and history at the University of Munich .

From 1969 to 1971 Gerda Hollunder was a freelancer for Bayerischer Rundfunk, worked on the editorial team for the radio program “Notebook” and, together with Magda Gatter, designed the women's program “Dampftopf”, which dealt with the topics of women, the world of work, society and politics.

In 1971 Gerda Hollunder became radio editor in the women's, children's and youth radio department at Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne . In 1974 she was a consultant at the Federal Ministry for Youth, Family, Women and Health (now the Federal Ministry for Family) and coordinated the public relations work for the "Year of Women". From 1982 to 1984 she was in charge of the Family and Society editorial group and from 1986 was a year-long member of the staff council and deputy chairwoman of the staff council.

From 1987 to 1991 Gerda Hollunder was head of the Family and Society program group and from 1991 to 1994 she headed the culture, radio play and entertainment program at WDR radio. In 1995 she moved to Deutschlandradio Berlin , where she was program director until 2004. Gerda Hollunder has been working as a freelance journalist again since 2004.

Gerda Hollunder was a mentor at the Protestant School of Journalism, was a member of the radio jury from 1995 to 2008, was a member of the jury in 2004 for the most beautiful German word and in 2008 a member of the jury for the ARD German Radio Play Award .
