Gerdemie Basseng

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gerdemie Basseng , nee Gerdemie Pütz , (born August 6, 1938 , † October 3, 2010 in Cologne ) was a German dancer and the best-known Cologne dance marie . She was the first to appear with lifting figures at the Mariechentanz with her dance officer .

Life

In 1959 Gerdemie Pütz appeared for the first time with her future husband at the Cologne carnival society " Treuer Husar blau-yellow Cologne 1925 ", and when Karl-Heinz Basseng moved to the old town Cologne in 1922 the following year , the meanwhile married danced with Martin Hombach, but performed at the end of the session also with the "old townspeople", where she now acted as a dance couple with her husband. In the 1960s, the dancing couple, under the guidance of the Cologne and later Aachen ballet master Peter Schnitzler, introduced the lifting figures that are taken for granted today in the Mariechentanz.

Basseng last appeared in 1970 when she stepped in as a replacement for Christel Gogoll, who was disapproved by revealing pictures. No Tanzmariechen has danced in Cologne for as long as her, 13 sessions. Even after her active time, she remained connected to the carnival with her husband, who rose to the position of president and honorary president of the society. So she had a say in the "offspring". In September 2010 the "Ehrenmariechen" and the "Ehrenratherrin" celebrated their 50th anniversary with the "old townspeople".

Gerdemie Basseng died in a hospice in October 2010 after a brief serious illness, leaving behind two sons.
