The KG Treuer Husar Blau-Gelb von 1925 eV is one of the nine traditional corps in the Cologne Carnival and a full member of the Cologne Carnival Festival Committee . The name was taken from the song The Faithful Hussar . The corps has blue and yellow uniforms as its trademark.

history

On September 26, 1925, the society was founded with the name "Large Lindenthal Carnival Society, Hussar Corps Blue-Yellow of 1925 eV". The founding members were veterans of a hussar regiment in the Cologne area , which was disbanded after the end of the First World War . During the Carnival of 1926 the association held its first ceremonial meeting , at which the first standard of the hussars was consecrated. In 1936 the society presented a female dance marie for the first time , which until then had always been embodied by male dancers. In 1937 it was renamed the Carnival Society “Treuer Husar Blau-Gelb von 1925 eV”. In 1938, the Society provided the first prince, Peter Hubert Schupp, who, on the orders of the NSDAP, went through the session with a female maiden, as the National Socialists did not tolerate men in women's clothes.

In 2000, the hussars formed the Cologne triumvirate in their anniversary session with “Farmer Karsten” Karsten Schnöring, “Jungfrau Petra” Peter Hansmann and “Prince Ralf II.” Ralf Günther . In the following session in 2000/01, the President of the Cologne Carnival Festival Committee, Hans-Horst Engels, appointed KG Treuer Husar as a traditional corps on February 4, 2001.

structure

The corps consists of the following parts:

  • Husaren-Pänz (children's dance group)
  • Reserve Corps (inactive members with full voting rights)
  • Tanzkorps (a club's own dance group consisting of men only)
  • Music corps (club's own music train with 40 musicians)
  • Equestrian Corps (the mounted part of society)
  • Active Corps (members in uniform who take part in the performances)
  • Corps à la Suite (supporting members with free time management)
  • Senate (supporters and sponsors of the society)

Hussar Casino

From 1967 to 2009 the home of the Treuen Hussar was on Albertusstrasse in Cologne. When the premises reached their capacity limit, the move to Dechant-Löbbel-Platz took place. The office and the “Hussar Casino”, a social room for internal activities, are now directly opposite the Church of St. Ursula near the Eigelstein .
