The Kölnische Karnevalsgesellschaft 1945 eV - Kölnische KG for short - is a regular carnival society of the Cologne Carnival Festival Committee and with over 240 participants one of the largest groups in the Cologne Carnival Monday procession .

history

The Kölnische KG was officially founded on November 11, 1945 with the motto “Et must widder jet zo laache jevve!”. Before that, on September 21, 1945, some carnivalists under the leadership of Willy Jacobi, Josef Boley, Heinz Münchow and Josef Fabry had met in the wine restaurant Recher Winzerverein in Rech an der Ahr and on the same day they wrote a handwritten certificate of incorporation .

The cheerful and high-spirited Harlequin became a symbol of the Kölnische KG .

Triumvirate

Triumvirate 2005

In 2005 Walter Ferdinand Passmann was elected as Prince Walter II , Ulrich Döres as Farmer Uli and Claus Frohn as Virgin Claudia .

Dance group

In 2006 the board of the Kölnische KG under the then President Theo Bischof integrated the cheerleaders of 1. FC Köln as a dance group.

Rider group

The history of the rider group goes back to 1949. On February 28, 1949, the Kölnische KG was represented with the first riders in the "Extended Cap Tour" (Rose Monday procession). The rider group in its current form was founded in 1968 and is an integral part of the Kölnische KG . With their Reitfräcken and cylinders , the rider in "Joy sprayed gray," the company color of the present Cologne KG .

Events

The Kölnische KG will open the session on the first Friday after November 11th with family and friends in a brewery. As one of the few carnival societies, the Kölnische still has a traditional gentleman's meeting and a ladies' meeting. In addition, there are two costume sessions in the Sartory halls : the Fastelovend session and the family session . In addition, the Kölnische has been organizing the KoSiBa (Costume Session Ball) in the waiting room at the cathedral since 2003 . In addition to the aforementioned events, there has been a Harlequin Gala at the Pullman Hotel Cologne since 2009 . The Harlequin Club Party on Carnival Friday has been a supplement to the Cologne KG event program since 2010.

senate

The Senate of the Kölnische KG was founded in 1947, two years after the Carnival Society was founded. The Senate is the “pillar of society” and the financial backbone of the association. It contributes significantly to the promotion and fulfillment of the statutory purposes and the social life of the association. The Senate Board consists of nine Senators, the Senate President is Walter F. Passmann (as of 2019) .
