The Cologne carnival society "Fidele Zunftbrüder" from 1919 e. V. is a traditional society in the Cologne Carnival and a full member of the Cologne Carnival Festival Committee as well as a member of the umbrella organizations Bund Deutscher Carneval and Rhenish Carnival Corporations (RKK).
history
The company emerged in 1919 from a regular table. In 1986 a delegation from the Grand Council took part in the Steuben Parade in New York with a standard and a Litewka . In 1989 the Fidelen guild brothers together with Peter Valder presented the prince carnival and with Josef Beck the Cologne virgin in the Cologne triumvirate .
Every year the society organizes several large ceremonial meetings and two other events in the Cologne Carnival : the “Little Prince's Meal” and the “Selvs jemaat” pub meeting. She takes part in the Cologne Rose Monday procession with her own car, foot group and music parade .
senate
The “Senate” consists of men who have made a name for themselves in the club. He contributes to the promotion and fulfillment of the statutory purposes and the social life of the association. The Senate has 39 senators and 42 honorary senators. Bruno Grimbach has been President of the Senate since 2015.
Dance group
The first dance group of the Fidelen Zunftbrüder was founded in 1947 as a shoemaker boy group and consisted exclusively of male dancers, including Mariechens. Theo Ries was the first dance marie . Because of a lack of dancers, women have also been included in the dance group since 1968. The first mixed dance group existed until 1977 and was abandoned for financial reasons and a lack of members.
On November 6, 1995, the Guild Müüs were founded in the presence of the then Lord Mayor Norbert Burger and the then Festival Committee President Hans-Horst Engels. The dance group consists of 45 dancers. The guild Müüs graduate each year between 60 and 80 performances at the Cologne Carnival, the Rhineland as in other regions of Germany and neighboring countries. Thomas Faßbender has been the commandant of the dance group since 2014.
Orders and honors
Since 1927 the society has awarded the annual session medals . Furthermore, particularly well-deserved carnivalists are honored with the Order of Merit in various degrees. A specialty is the order of women awarded since 1991 .
