The Great General Carnival Society of 1900 Cologne e. V. , or GA for short, is one of the oldest Cologne carnival societies. She is a member of the Cologne Carnival Festival Committee and a real family company with currently around 300 members. The main goal is to maintain Cologne customs , i.e. H. During the carnival session, the GA organizes various sessions and takes an active part in the Rose Monday procession.

Women have long been admitted as members and can be found in management positions such as writers, press spokeswoman, Kayjass-Wiever president or chairwoman of the friends' association.

The "Kayjass-Wiever" form the female senate and take on a variety of tasks within society.

The senate and councilors have the task of supporting the board of directors and, if necessary, advising them.

In the children and youth dance group "GA-Flöhe", even the very little ones, from the age of three, are introduced to carnival customs.

The “Ambulant Carnival Service” (AKD) brings together women and men from society who go to old people, sick people, especially those with dementia , in old people's homes, hospices and so-called closed wards with their own changing program throughout the year . Under the motto “Sing against oblivion” they delight those fellow human beings who are on the fringes of society due to old age or illness.

In 2008 the Große Allgemeine KG revived an old, historically verifiable figure of the Cologne Carnival, the Bellejeck . In each session, the Bellejeck is re-staged by a male person from society. He attends all session events and has to "Wiever Fastelovend" his own train: The first move of the official street carnival it attracts Weiberfastnacht morning early in the morning to "wake up the revelers " with his entourage to the Hofburg the Cologne triumvirate to prince, Bauer and Awakening virgin.
