Gerdi Staiblin

Gerdi Staiblin (born October 20, 1942 in Endingen am Kaiserstuhl ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1996 to 2001 she was Minister for Nutrition and Rural Areas of the State of Baden-Württemberg .

Staiblin was under her maiden name Gerdi Sexauer in her youth cherry queen in Endingen-Königschaffhausen, 1962 Baden wine queen and 1963/64 German wine princess . The independent winemaker and fruit and vegetable farmer has been involved in the rural women’s association since 1965 , where she was first local chairwoman, from 1968 district chairwoman in Emmendingen, 1971 deputy regional chairwoman and 1981 regional chairwoman in southern Baden. From 1991 she was Vice President of the German Rural Women's Association (dlv) . She held this office until 1996.

In 1996, Prime Minister Erwin Teufel brought Staiblin into his cabinet as the successor to Gerhard Weiser , to which she belonged for one term. At her own request, she withdrew from politics after the 2001 state elections.

Her husband Helmut Staiblin was the cellar master of the local winegrowers' cooperative in Königschaffhausen. Both daughter Jasmin Staiblin is manager . She was 2006-2012 Chairman of the Executive Board ( CEO ) of ABB Switzerland and 2013 to 2018 the energy company Alpiq .
