Gerhard Ammann

Gerhard Ammann (born March 9, 1936 in Vienna ; † May 27, 2004 ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and from 1972 to 1982 member of the Vienna state parliament and local council .

Life

Ammann studied at the University of World Trade in Vienna and completed his training with the academic degree of business graduate . He then worked at Unilever Austria and was appointed CEO of Wien Holding in 1982 . Ammann became politically active in the ÖVP from the age of 20. He was active in leading positions in the Young People's Party , the ÖAAB and the ÖVP- Hietzing and became deputy ÖVP state party chairman. On February 25, 1972, Ammann succeeded Günther Goller as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council, from which he resigned on November 30, 1982 after he had been appointed to Wien Holding. His political priorities included energy supply, transport planning and economic issues.

Ammann was married and the father of four children. He died in 2004 after a long and serious suffering and was buried in the Vienna Central Cemetery .
