Gerhard Balder (born October 1, 1937 in Linz ) is an Austrian freelance designer , graphic artist , caricaturist and painter .

Live and act

Balder learned the trade of optician and goldsmith from his grandmother in Wels. The artist lives and works in Pucking . He worked as a freelance eyewear designer for Silhouette in Linz for around twenty years .

He illustrated a work by Herbert Erhart , Michaela Baumgartner and several works by Hans Dieter Mairinger . Individual works were purchased for the art collection of the province of Upper Austria. Since 1989 he has been Deputy President of the Zülow Group .

In 2005 he was awarded the Culture Medal of the City of Linz.
