Exhibitions, symposia, other activities

Exhibitions and symposia initially took place exclusively in the Mühlviertel; it was not until 1961 that the first representative exhibition took place in the State Museum .

The concept for the annual staging of a week of the Mühlviertel Artists' Guild was started in Grein in 1971 and continued in 1972 with art weeks together with the Stifter Institute and the Linz City Ring at the Johannes Kepler University Linz . In 1973 the week of the Mühlviertel artists' guild took place in Bad Leonfelden .

A core group was formed around Ernst Balluf , who became more involved in 1972 and designed a new logo . The organization of regular art stand markets began in 1973, but subsequently led to discussions about attitudes towards artistic creation and its forms of expression and, in 1974, the formation of the Zülow Group within the artists' guild, combined with the expansion of the radius of action. In particular, the exhibition activities moved to Linz, where gallery space was available in the Ursulinenhof.

Thanks to the expansion of international connections, works by Mühlviertel artists can be seen in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the USSR and the USA. Furthermore, the Mühlviertler Heimatblätter could be produced with improved print quality.
