Franz Poetsch

Franz Poetsch (* 28. October 1912 in style wood ; † 20th August 1971 in Puchenau ) was from Moravia originating Austrian painter and graphic artist .

Life

After studying privately with Alex Rothaug and Robert Eigenberger from 1934 to 1937 , he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Herbert Boeckl , Wilhelm Dachauer , Carl Fahringer and Ferdinand Andri and received his diploma as an academic painter in 1944.

His paintings of still lifes - and landscapes are one to the limit of abstraction reaching Expressionism executed, which is characterized by an upbeat, almost Asian gestures and occasionally flashing, always sensitive and nuanced color.

He was a member of the Vienna Secession , the artists ' association MAERZ and the Upper Austrian Artists' Association . Works by him are u. a. in the painting collection of the 20th century in the art history department of the Upper Austrian State Museum .
