Otto Wutzel
Otto Wutzel (born July 17, 1918 in Hadersdorf-Weidlingau ; † December 5, 2013 ) was an Austrian art historian and civil servant .
Live and act
Otto Wutzel studied history, German literature and art history and joined the Upper Austrian regional service in 1948 , where he worked in the regional archive and later in the culture and press department. As the initiator of the Hypo-Galerie , he created a forum for the avant-garde in the 1970s and 1980s . As a civil servant, he campaigned for the preservation of monuments and the fine arts , organized the Albrecht Altdorfer exhibition in St. Florian with the title The Art of the Danube School, which ultimately attracted 500,000 visitors, thus laying the foundation for the following Upper Austrian provincial exhibitions . In 1968 he began to set up the press department of the Upper Austrian provincial government. He was buried at the St. Magdalena cemetery (Linz) .
