Ernest Schimmel

Ernest Schimmel (born March 13, 1911 in Vienna ; † 1977 ) was an Austrian architect , painter and graphic artist who lived from 1945 in the village of Schlag in the Mühlviertel municipality of Grünbach .

Live and act

After compulsory school and secondary school, Schimmel studied painting with Rudolf Jettmar and Hans Larwin and two semesters in graphics at the master school for graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . In 1945 he went to Grünbach. In 1955 he and Hans Stumbauer were one of the founding members of the Mühlviertel Artists Guild and a member of the Zülow Group .

After graphic and painting tasks, he concentrated on the interior design of guest houses and residential buildings .

He was married to Eva. His son Henning , who was born in 1966 and died in 2017, was a designer and publicist .
