Ernst Reischenböck

Ernst Reischenböck (* 1923 in Linz ; † October 13, 1973 in Luxembourg ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist.

Life

He studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Linz with Paul Ikrath . For 10 years his central theme was the life on the cross. In the 1950s he toured Europe in a VW Beetle and recorded his impressions in his work. For his city ​​views , he used turpentine- thin or transparent oil paint on paper. From 1965 he made large tapestries and wall hangings himself with the sewing machine , whereby he first had to learn how to use this tool.

His works have been purchased by the Luxembourg National Museum, the Upper Austrian State Museum, the New Gallery of the City of Linz and the Federal Ministry for Education and Art . The Artemons art gallery in Hellmonsödt also has works by Reischenböck.
